Using caulk strips for restaurant maintenance.

Restaurant Caulking Maintenance Made Simple

Restaurants… owners have to follow strict maintenance guidelines for health and safety reasons. When you own a restaurant, it’s a full-time job making sure your kitchen, bathrooms, and dining areas are always clean, safe and sanitary. It takes you away from other areas of your business. InstaTrim can help alleviate this issue and make restaurant caulking maintenance simple! Restaurant Hygiene What’s the first thing you do after you’re seated at your table in a restaurant? Your eyes probably scan the table, looking for cleanliness. Perhaps you head to the lavatory to see just how clean, or not clean, it is. If you look around and see cracked, peeling, discolored caulk everywhere - your nose automatically scrunches up and you make that disapproving face. It sends shivers through your body. Why does your body react this way? It’s because your brain is asking “if this place can’t keep their gaps and cracks handled properly, what else are they not handling?” If you’re totally turned off by it, can you imagine what health inspectors are thinking when they see it during inspections? Yeah. Exactly. Restaurant hygiene has to be a restaurant owner’s priority, or patrons move on to the next “big thing” with fresh, clean, pristine caulking in their gaps and cracks. Simplifying Restaurant Maintenance Owners at restaurants have no time. Most of them couldn’t even tell you the last time they actually ate a meal. Ironic for a restaurant owner, right? If you’re an established restaurateur, you know how many man hours it takes to remove and replace caulking throughout a restaurant, along with how often it has to be done throughout the lifetime of a restaurant (if it wants to remain open, of course). And the noxious fumes that linger for hours after caulking. It’s not a good scene. You can install our flexible trim at 12pm and you can open for lunch at 12:01pm. Although prepping your restaurant for InstaTrim installation takes a bit of extra work - it’s a one-time thing. Much of the hard labor is during the preparation stage. All silicone-based caulk must be removed, along with the gross residue it leaves behind because ABSOLUTELY NOTHING sticks to silicone except MORE silicone. However, once all your surfaces are prepared properly, you’ll easily install InstaTrim and you won’t have to think about it again for years and years. And years. Because it: is mold and mildew resistant doesn’t dry out so it won’t crack doesn’t peel won’t discolor simple to clean InstaTrim will be your best employee! Simplifying restaurant maintenance is one of our favorite benefits of our flexible caulking strip. How to trim windows with Instatrim trim strips

How to Trim Windows with InstaTrim

We all want a home we feel safe and comfortable living in. If we start seeing mold, or little annoying critters all over the house, or feel drafts during cold temperatures it means our windows are letting us down and we need to fix drafty windows. Wait. We take that back. Let’s not give our windows a bad reputation! It’s really the caulk around them that’s letting all of us down. Windows are just doing their job, hanging out and letting the sunlight shine into our homes. All they can do is rely on the weatherproofing we homeowners chose to use trim windows. Importance of Trimming Windows Why is it important to properly trim windows? Let’s take you back … back to when you were house hunting and finally found the perfect place to hang your hat. Remember when you finally bought your home and everyone went on and on about windows and doors? You were told to make sure the windows were good quality and weatherproofed, and your doors better not have a draft, or you’d be paying top dollar for your heating and cooling bills. All true. However, what no one told you was how dreadful caulking around windows and doors was and that you would have to replace all that caulking often. Why? Because caulking dries, cracks, breaks off and it also becomes discolored! Depending on where you live, it can be a yearly project each spring when doing spring cleaning and the yard clean-up. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could do this important task once, and not have to worry about it until you move and have to replace caulk in another new house? We thought so! Install the Right Window Trim We’re going to keep it real here and now: installing InstaTrim is easy. However, the prep work before installing it can take a little time and effort, but it still isn’t as time consuming and messy as using caulk to trim your windows. Remove Caulk The first step whenever making the switch from silicone-based caulking to InstaTrim: remove each and every bit of caulk. Scrape that stuff off of the surface, leave none of it behind. Clean Off Residue Silicone is unique in that nothing will stick to it, including InstaTrim. If silicone is left on any surface, InstaTrim may adhere at first, but it’ll pop off quickly. We don’t want that happening, so after removing the caulking, make sure to clean off all the gross residue silicone caulking leaves behind. You can clean off the residue using a silicone sealant remover, or acetone, and a cloth. If you don’t want to use acetone, grab some white vinegar or isopropyl alcohol, and leave it sitting on the residue until it gets soft and will wipe off with a scrubbing pad or soft brush. It might require a little scrubbing, but remember, you do this once and the hard work will be over quickly! Install InstaTrim Now that you’ve done the prep work - just peel the backing off of the adhesive on your flexible trim, press InstaTrim into place evenly applying pressure (do not stretch) and stand back to admire your work! Could it get any easier? Actually, yes! We created an applicator tool to help you evenly distribute the pressure needed to properly install InstaTrim. Our customers are to thank for this product. Without their request, we wouldn’t have known they needed a little something special. Save Time and Money Trimming your windows with the right product will save you time, and be a true safeguard against high electric bills. Air will circulate better without horrible drafty windows mucking the whole process up, and all your “bought air” will stay inside your home keeping you toasty warm in the winter, and cool as a cucumber in the summers.

trim countertops in kitchens and baths

How to Trim Countertops with InstaTrim

A question we often encounter: “how do I trim countertops with InstaTrim in my kitchen and bathroom?” Everyone wants to know not just how to actually install InstaTrim, but how to make it last for years so homeowners don’t have to worry about replacing it. No one believes how easy it is to install. The most labor intensive part of the whole process is prepping the area if you’re unlucky enough to have silicone-based caulk in your kitchen and bathroom. We know, caulk is horrible. But the important thing to remember is now that we have developed InstaTrim and you know about it, you can trim your kitchen and bathroom counters better….right? The old “when you know better you do better”! How to Trim Countertops No matter what kind of countertop you want to trim, the most important part of replacing the current product around your countertops with InstaTrim: the prep work. Before InstaTrim, most homes were filled with silicone caulking. It’s understandable - it’s really all that was around for many years. But now… now there’s a flexible trim that blows silicone caulking out of the water. However, in order to trim out your kitchen and bathroom countertops properly, the silicone has to be removed. All of it. Even that gross oily residue it leaves behind. Remove Caulking In order to rip all that caulking from your countertops, you’ll need a sharp razor and probably a caulk removal tool. You’ll need to cut along both sides of the caulk along the surface it’s attached to. Then pull it off your countertop. If the caulk is old and dried out, you will have to do a bit of scraping. Once you’ve removed all the physical silicone, now you have to deal with that gross, oily residue. Nothing sticks to that stuff except more silicone. Just like plastic wrap when you’re trying to cover your leftovers after a big holiday dinner. Scrub Away the Residue Silicone caulking leaves behind a residue - it’s sometimes just a film, and sometimes it’s got an oily feeling to it. Either way, the residue has to be cleaned off, or nothing will stick to it. Not even InstaTrim. Residue from silicone-based products is the kryptonite to InstaTrim. It’s why you have to make sure all of the residue is cleaned off properly. Unfortunately, the best way to remove silicone residue is with acetone. Since it is flammable and the fumes could make you pass out - make sure you open windows and properly ventilate while using acetone and a scrubbing pad or sponge to remove the residue. You can also try vinegar if acetone isn’t for you. Vinegar does have to sit on the silicone residue for a bit of time and will require a bit of extra elbow grease. However, the odor is less overwhelming! The Best Way to Trim Kitchen Countertops Kitchen countertops often leave gaps between the counter and the backsplash, or wall. We’ve all been conditioned to fill gaps with either caulk, or wood trim. Unless you’ve got a lot of time and are wicked talented, caulk and wood trim are probably not your best options for trimming your kitchen countertops. Caulk is hard to work with, plus it has to be replaced often since it becomes discolored, dries out, and cracks. Wood trim looks nice, but it requires using a saw to cut it, lots of glueing and far more time and energy than one person has. Instead of caulk and wood, you have a much simpler option! InstaTrim. Once the countertops and backsplash are cleaned and prepped, all you need to do is peel and apply pressure to install, with minimal cutting! Luckily, there are multiple colors to choose from to match your countertops or the backsplash. If you have a painted wall behind your kitchen counters, you can use our paintable flexible trim to finish off your kitchen. The Most Sanitary Option to Trim Your Bathroom Countertops Bathrooms tend to have a lot of moisture, dust, and more opportunities for mold to grow and destroy your beautifully decorated sanctuary. Silicone caulking in bathrooms has been the norm for so many years, but it’s something that has to be removed every couple of years and redone. It’s a hassle and so much work. InstaTrim is easy to install, and doesn’t have to be replaced every few years. Whatever the surface, as long as there’s no silicone or silicone residue on the surface, InstaTrim will bond to the surface and create such a tight seal - mold won’t have anywhere to grow. Plus, our flexible trim doesn’t become discolored like silicone caulk does. You can’t go wrong with high-quality flexible trim for your bathroom countertops. Easy to Install Kitchen and Bathroom Trim When you want the most polished and clean look for your kitchen and bathroom countertops, InstaTrim provides the most easy installation, along with a long-lasting option. It takes minimal time to install, and it lasts for far more years than any kind of caulk products on the market. No specific tools are required, but if you want to be assured you’re providing the proper amount of pressure during installation, pick up our applicator tool when placing your flexible trim order.

InstaTrim flexible cabinet trim

Cabinet Trim Made Easy

The difference between the kitchen you love and the kitchen that makes you squirm: gaps. More specifically, the gaps between walls and kitchen cabinets. However, the thought of dealing with caulk often brings out the ultimate squirm reaction. So, how can a homeowner handle the unsightly gaps without stress and mess? InstaTrim®. We’re in the business of making cabinet trim easy to install. Easy Cabinet Trim Installation Caulk is messy, and truly smells toxic. Applying it to fill gaps and cracks in your kitchen is probably the least enjoyable task of all-time. Okay, maybe we’re being dramatic, but still. It’s a stress-fest for do-it-yourselfers. If you look around your kitchen, you’ll notice the walls are naturally uneven. It’s basically impossible to get your cabinets to sit flush against kitchen walls. The older your home, the harder it gets to eliminate the gaps between walls and cabinets. Houses settle, walls become more uneven, and even if you’ve caulked once, you’ll have to do it again as things continue to shift. Instead of battling with messy caulk, and inhaling toxic fumes, use InstaTrim for easy cabinet trim installation. It’s quick to apply, flexible and the perfect alternative to caulking between your cabinets and walls. We can’t say this enough: sealing up gaps and cracks doesn’t have to be a hassle, and it shouldn’t have to be a yearly task on your household chore list. With InstaTrim® you can check this less-than-desirable task off your list for many years! Why? So glad you asked! Easy Installation Prep. Peel. Press. It really is this simple! Prep for flexible cabinet trim requires users to clean the surface you want to apply your flexible trim. Once the area is clean of dust, debris, and silicone, just peel back the adhesive liner and start pressing it into place! We even have an applicator tool to make sure you apply firm and even pressure as you install your caulk alternative. Flexible Not only is the trim itself flexible, but so is the adhesive. As your home settles, and shifts, InstaTrim adjusts, which means it won’t crack and start falling apart. We’re not saying what would crack and fall apart, but we all know what does. No Mold or Discoloration As great as it is that our product is mess-free, it’s even more amazing that it’s water resistant. Other products grow mold, and mildew if water creeps behind it. Other products also become discolored over time, and have to be replaced. Not our peel-and-stick flexible trim! Non-Toxic & Odor-Free Since InstaTrim meets ASTM 4236, it means we’re non-toxic. We don’t contain any chemicals, and the trim does not release toxic fumes so we’re also odor-free. Never Dries Out If you don’t use all of the product for your project, no worries. InstaTrim’s adhesive never dries out. Store it in your garage for your next do-it-yourself household project. When you’re ready to use it again, just prep your surface, peel back the liner, and press it into place! SIMPLE, mess-free, and looks great for years to come. You Can Do This Kitchen Cabinet Project Never doubt the simplicity of using InstaTrim, or how professional of a look it gives to your final kitchen design. It adheres to tile, wood, vinyl, metal, granite, wallpaper, paint, and more. If you want a perfect line every time you fill a gap, whether in your kitchen, or another room, the universal trim solution you want is InstaTrim!

seal out bugs with InstaTrim

Got bugs? Seal Out Bugs with InstaTrim®

Got bugs? It’s a silly question, since we can all agree everyone has bugs trying to invade their homes as the warm temperatures decline, and the colder temperatures set in. The real question is: how do I keep the pests outside where they belong? I’ve done all the outside prep: cleaned the yard so there aren’t tons of piles of leaves, and the grass is short and manicured cleared out pest nests close to my house cleared my basement and garage so things are off the floor and organized in plastic tubs Now what do I do? The ants and spiders are still finding ways into my kitchen, spiders are surprising the family with surprise visits, and bees swarm us anytime we sit outside to enjoy the cooler temperatures, sipping our morning coffee! How do I seal out bugs? InstaTrim can help! InstaTrim can Help Keep Bugs Out The three biggest, baddest, most annoying bugs waging war on homeowners are ants, spiders, and bees (and all their stingy variations). Each critter has their own special way of invading a home, and once you know where they’re finding their ways in, it’s a lot easier to shut them out! Ants Kitchens are a favorite destination for ants. If there’s any kind of gap, or crack, in or around your kitchen windows or doors, ants march right on in. They’re in search of all your crumbs left on your counters and floors. Once they have their marching orders, they come out in little teams and take over your kitchen counters and all along the perimeter of your kitchen floor. Can you blame them? Who wants to be outside in damp, gross weather? I’d find some gaps and cracks around your windows and doors, too, if I knew there was food and comfy accommodations inside! Homeowners often rely on caulking around windows and doors in order to fill the gaps, and cracks around kitchen windows and doors. However, that has to be done at least once per year, and more often than not, twice a year depending on your climate. It’s a chore most people forget until it’s too late and the ants have taken over. Instead, grab InstaTrim the peel and stick caulking everyone’s talking about, to fill the gaps and cracks once, and you won’t have to worry about it again for years! Spiders Wondering where spiders like to gain access to your house? They’re big fans of staying low. They crawl in through gaps and cracks along the base of a house. Basement windows, your exterior doors, and let’s face it, if you have a garage, they are making their way in there. Again, caulking is the old way to fill in the gaps and cracks around your home’s foundation and exterior doors. Instead, grab your favorite color from our InstaTrim line of peel and stick caulk to fill in the gaps and cracks, so you can sit and watch football instead of spending your Sundays filling the same old gaps and cracks around all your doors, and basement windows. Bees/Wasps Spiders go low, but bees love to go high. They have wings and know how to use them, right? Unfortunately that means hauling out your ladder, relying on your kids to make sure it stays steady as you fill in cracks and gaps along higher points of your house. Recipe for disaster, right? That’s the epitome of a one and done kind of job, so caulking each year isn’t ideal to keep bees, wasps, and all the stingy-est flying critters, from setting up their colonies in and around your house. When they enter your house, they build a lovely home of their own, and take over the interior of your walls. Which means they’ll find their way into your house rather easily. When they create their little hives anywhere in, or around your house, they’ll attack you as you sit outside trying to enjoy the crisp autumn air. Bees love to protect their home, and will make sure you know this if you get too close to their hive every time you try to spend time outside. So, be like the bees and protect your home! InstaTrim the heck out of those gaps and cracks so they move to the next house on your street and stay out of yours. We Love Nature Don’t get it wrong, we love nature. We just don’t love when unwanted nature wants to hang out with us in our house. There’s a place for nature, and that’s outside the comfort zone of our humble abodes! We’re all about living peacefully with our insect friends. Our adhesive trim is non-toxic and has no toxic fumes as it creates its famous seal, so everyone stays healthy, while living in the appropriate environment: humans in houses, bugs outdoors.

4 Tips to Avoid Fall and Winter Pests and Bugs

Those bugs know the summer sun is slowly reducing its presence with us in the northern hemisphere. Although there is still some warm weather to come - cool air and hopefully post-COVID football and trick or treating is right around the corner. Cold weather means bugs and pests get cold too. While it’s still nice being outside, we recommend you use these remaining warm summer days to keep pests out of your home, office, RV, cabin, or anywhere they like to reside in the winter. Here are 4 tips and ideas for preparing your property for fall pests. Clean up the yard near your building or dwelling. Piles of Leaves, branches, wood piles, tall grass - and those DIY projects you haven’t finished yet - are havens for bugs in the summer. If they sit within a few feet of your home, office, store, cabin or RV, rest assured gross spiders, ants, bees, wasps, ticks, Asian beetles, and in some regions late summer mosquitoes will use it as staging area for their upcoming cold weather invasion. Make sure to mow, weed, clear debris, leaf piles, cut back shrubs, and anything else that can be used by those pesky pests. Organize and clean up basement storage areas and keep boxes off the floor. Many species of sneaky spiders and fast centipedes love your messes, esp. in your basement and in older homes or neighborhoods. Many don’t know that common centipedes will come up your sewer drain pipes. If they find lots of fun things to hide behind and things to eat, they’ll make themselves at home too. After you get those toys, tools, and technology off the floor, put some sticky tape face up near your sewer drains in your basement. If you find some freaky friends in your trap after a few days, instead of pouring bleach or chemicals down your drains, visit a local home improvement store for possible earth-friendly solutions to point them to the neighbor’s house instead. Look for pest nests right outside of your home. During the summer, around your property there is a lot of food like flowers, its warm, and your bugs don’t think your home is as important. As it gets colder, those outdoor pest nests in piles of wood, leaves, and eaves are not as appealing to them. On that first crisp day, they make plans to move in with you where its warm. Wasp nests, ant colonies, and spiders like to invade your home to mate and get ready for the cold months before they emerge again in the spring. CAREFUL: Stinging pests like wasps can be especially crabby in the late summer and fall due to lack of food - so make sure to call a professional exterminator if you are unsure how to remove them from your home or dwelling. Fill gaps, cracks, and entry points in your home or property. Ants love kitchen windows. Spiders like gaps near the base of your home like exterior doors. Bees like gaps and cracks higher up on your home. Often, you have to caulk these gaps bi-annually, so why not fix it once and use our InstaTrim flexible trim strips instead? Our peel and stick caulking replacement product is long-lasting, paintable, flexible, and patented technology that prevents those buggers from finding their way indoors in the fall. You should fix some common places bugs like to enter with peel and stick caulk strips from InstaTrim. Such as: Kitchen window gaps, esp. near pantries Kitchen cabinets Bathtub gaps that may have mold or mildew  Basement windows where the caulking has peeled off Toilet base, esp. in certain types of basements. Except for entomologists, most folks don’t like bugs and pests. Therefore, we hope these 4 Tips to Avoid Fall and Winter Pests and Bugs will be helpful for you. Is the Caulk in Your Bathroom Really Waterproof?

Is the Caulk in Your Bathroom Really Waterproof?

Mold and caulking are common conspirators against the sanitary conditions in your bathroom. It is false that caulking is the ultimate tool for what you need to maintain a finished edge, sanitary conditions, or structural integrity of any room in your home.

instatrim vs caulk on a bathroom sink with a brown trim strip

6 Reasons to Choose Flexible Trim Strips Over Traditional Caulk

Traditionally, we’ve always seen our bathtubs, shower corners, and sinks sealed with caulk, whether that is acrylic or silicone caulk. Not only is the process messy and time-consuming, but it also becomes dirty and turns into a hub for collecting grime after a certain amount of time. What is worse, it even turns black or red and gives your bathroom an unkempt, dirty appearance even when it’s as clean as you can possibly make it. There are now newer alternatives to caulking, which are much more efficient, reliable, and easier to carry out, such as using InstaTrim flexible vinyl edge trim. Here are some more reasons why you should make the switch from traditional caulk to flexible and bendable trim instead.   Traditional Caulk Is Always Just A Temporary Fix That’s right, as time-consuming and tiring of a task it is, caulking doesn’t even address the real issues that cause leaks and damage in the first place. When your old caulking gets damaged, all you need is to remove it and redo the tub or shower with a new application of caulk. While this solves the problem temporarily, it doesn’t have an end in sight. You will have to go through the same process again when the current layer of caulk starts getting old. Flexible trim strips are a more sturdy alternative because they don’t need to be replaced frequently, and they provide a permanent solution to the problem. When there are solutions that last longer, don’t need regular touch-ups, and are more convenient, there’s no question that traditional caulk can’t compete. Traditional Caulk Isn’t Resilient Your tub and shower areas are subject to many temperature changes. Be it changes from hot to cold water, or even changes in the environment, such as humidity or dampness after the hot water has been running for too long. Traditional caulk isn’t resilient enough to withstand these constant changes, which means it’ll either start wearing down, peeling, or even just build up mold and bacteria that will give it an unpleasant appearance. On top of this, it also stops doing its job. When the caulk starts stripping off, it no longer offers the protection your shower and tub need from water seepage and leaks. It can also expand and contract with the changes in temperature levels, which leads to cracks along the surface that allows water to enter. Flexible vinyl edge trim doesn’t change with the weather because it is temperature resistant. It can withstand changes from hot to cold without losing its durability, its hold on the shower and tub corners, and doesn’t let the dampness lead to mold and bacteria outbreaks. This means it won’t crack and require frequent touch-ups. Traditional Caulk Is Pretty Unappealing Lets admit it, traditional caulk, even when freshly applied, looks bad. Even when you’ve done the best job you can and made it as even and smoothened out as possible, it gives off a look of a hastily done job and usually takes away from your bathroom’s overall appearance. Caulk sticks out from the corners and edges of your bathtub, shower, or sink, and it usually isn’t the same color as the rest of your tiles and appliances. This means that it sticks out like a sore thumb, even when its perfectly clean. And when it starts to collect bacteria and change color, it requires an immediate change. Traditional Caulk Doesn’t Adapt to Change Very Well We’ve mentioned this before, but traditional caulk can dry out and crack with changes in temperature—it’s also damaged by chemicals, such as the chemicals you use to clean your bathroom. When you’re cleaning your bathtub, the chemicals that come into contact with the caulk cause it to lose its grip on the edges and start peeling off. While it peels off, mold starts growing in the spaces. Not only will you have to thoroughly replace the old caulk, but you’ll have to give the area a good clean before redoing it and make sure you get all the mold out. Newer methods are more resistant to chemicals because they are made of materials that don’t undergo chemical changes in their composition when they come into contact with cleaners. Using Traditional Caulk Takes Time Every time you want to redo your old caulk, you’ll have to go through the lengthy procedure of removing the previous layer of caulk, filling your tub and getting the caulk into the crevices of your tub or shower. Its a pain in the neck, and back, and it doesn’t even give you the results to make it worthwhile. Using a caulking alternative like InstaTrim Flexible Trim Strips is easier and quicker, especially if you’re applying it for the first time. It doesn’t break, crumble, or become a mess over time.   Flexible Trim Is Safer Than Traditional Caulk When you’re applying caulk, you also have to be wary of the fumes that you’re inhaling during the application procedure. You have to make sure the windows and doors are open, and even have a fan or exhaust fan nearby to increase the ventilation. Inhaling the fumes is bad for your lungs, but even touching the caulk can be damaging to your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. You should wear protective eyewear and gloves when using caulk because it can irritate your eyes. While this is a necessary safety measure, it also makes it difficult to neatly apply the caulk from a safe distance. There are no harmful fumes with InstaTrim.   In summary, you might not be completely sure about making the switch from old caulking methods to flexible trim when you’ve been caulking for years. However, once you get the hang of it with our support, FAQs, and how-tos, you’ll soon realize that this was a necessary change that saves you unnecessary time and stress while making your bathroom look better and more sanitary as well.

instatrim mildew bathroom problem success story

Flexible Trim Strips Help Senior with Bathroom Mildew Problem

InstaTrim Success Story Caulking is not easy.  Especially with people of any age struggling with common ailments. Shoulders, stiff necks, and arthritic hands make caulking even more difficult. As we get older, our ailments only get worse, but ironically, so does caulking when it gets older too. However, after only a short period of time of even a year, caulking can start to build up mildew, dirt, and even gaps can appear where bugs can set up shop.  Whether you are 18 or 108, it is important to have a sanitary environment, especially these days, in your home, apartment, townhome, mobile home, and even your RV or camper. We recently received this success story letter from a senior dealing with this exact scenario in his bathroom. Robert C. is a fellow Minnesota native with a great sense of humor. He is 74 years young, married for 54 years, not very mobile and stuck at home like most of us these days. Robert had a positive experience using InstaTrim flexible trim strips instead of caulking his aging bathroom and wanted to tell us about it. Here is his unedited letter:     Dear InstaTrim, Thank you so much for creating Instatrim. I figured you would want to hear my story. I’m 74 and stuck at home, so I have time to write this as my wife and I take breaks from each other every day. I’ll try to keep it short, but no promises. Among many mechanical issues, my bathroom had so much mildew that had snuck under the caulking, my entire house had that horrible mildew smell. Nothing like having your house smell like your garage rags. We were actually used to it, until we had to be home all the time due to the pandemic. Somehow, my son helped find us a contractor to come out and help us with resolving the entire bathroom refresh, but these days it came at an extra price – even caulking. Really? When I saw caulking was going to be $1,275 of my bathroom project, I told the contractor I would figure that part out. Then I remembered I was 74 and have unsteady hands, when I stood there holding the caulking gun. I had also not done this in 10 years. I remembered back then I joked that caulking expects you to be a gymnast or ninja. When caulking in bathrooms, you have to lay on the floor and hold your neck up like a judo expert and need to have steady hands like a surgeon. On a ladder at the ceiling, you feel like a gymnast standing on one leg and hopefully getting the trim cut right or caulking spread evenly on the first shot. Ouch. My shoulder, neck, and back wasn’t going to take any of this, but the contractor couldn’t come out for another four weeks. My son had heard of some peel and stick caulk options and did some research on the web. He found InstaTrim, thought it looked better, and then bought a 50’ white roll on amazon.com. I prefer going to Home Depot, but kids these days, I swear. Your Insta trim flexible trim strip product made our summer and saved me almost $2000. With your product, it only took about two hours between my son and I to complete the bathroom. It really was what your website says – you can do this. Unfortunately, I know you guys like before and after photos of projects, but here is the only picture I took of a more detailed picture right after we did the insta-trim and before we installed all the safety equipment for my wife.  I’ll try to track down an old photo for you, but then I have to deal with my scanner. Thanks again and feel free to use this letter however you wish. If you put it on AOL, I’ll probably see it though as my tech savvy-ness ended in 1995 as I write this from my Windows XP computer. Sincerely, Robert C. Edina, Minnesota     Thank you to Robert for his time writing this great success story.  Here at InstaTrim, our mission is to help you make DIY caulking projects go smoothly – at any age, skill level, or relevant application type.  I hope Robert’s story has helped you feel that you can use InstaTrim where you would have previously used caulking.  Stay tuned as we continue to present more success stories in the coming months.
